Bicol, historically known as Ibalong, is located at the southern part of Luzon. It is comprised of six provinces Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate and Sorsogon.
Recently, this region’s tourism industry increased due to the popularity of Mayon Volcano, Caramoan Islands, whale shark spotting, as well as, festivities the Penafrancia Festival, Ibalong Festival and more.
Aside from natural formations, Bicol region is also home to colonial churches such as the Basilica of Our Lady of Penafrancia, Our Lady of the Gate in Daraga, Bato Church, St. John the Evangelist Metropolitan Cathedral in Naga City, St. John the Baptist Church in Tabaco City, St. Gregory the GreatCathedral in Legazpi City and more.
Tourists can also enjoy various activities such as trekking, ATV, island hopping, scuba diving, etc. Aside from fun activities, Bicol region is also home to amazing cuisines such as Laing, Bicol Express and Chili ice cream.
